Equipment on site!

Dad and Tad picked up a bulldozer from a family friend on Friday evening, March 8th. Then on Saturday morning, Tad took Emily, Zach, Josh and Noah to town to pick up a mini excavator. While they were picking that up, Dad started working with the dozer on removing an incline behind the garden, making way to install new fence to replace the old pipe fence we took out last year. Dad was able to dig the ditches for the perimeter drain, and he and Shawn and Tad installed them, then laid straw on top to prevent drain tiles becoming filled with clay and mud. While the men were working on that, Diana, Angie, Dora and the 5 children worked on stick/limb removal from the big storm in June. Uncle Billy was also at the farm working on cutting on trees that had fallen and splitting some wood. Overall, it was a very fruitful day in the eyes of the women! Some of our men may have thought it was a bit silly picking up branches that the bulldozer could have easily pushed away for us. However, we enjoyed the sunshine, then clouds,  air, cold air,,, more cold air, and just the general excitement of it all coming together. Plus the day together as a family was great too!
I ordered sawdust today, another thing off the list! Dad ordered the heated floor for parlor as well. I do believe that compared to all the waiting we did for the loan approval (over a year) this project will go faster than we dreamed it could! Its all coming together nicely!
On way down pad too muddy to climb up the incline.
