While Tad was mowing rye, Shawn tamped the pit and cow deck with a jump n jack, or tamp, to get the parlor ready for the floor heat and concrete. It was very hard work, and Shawn did an exceptional job, trying to make sure the concrete has a solid bed to lay on so we don't have cracks(or quite so many anyway) in the future. This machine wouldn't go over solid clumps or stone, so a lot of the work was done with a garden rake. Shawn started on Saturday, May 4th and finished late Sunday evening since the machine was to be returned early Monday morning.
