Lots of trusses with overlay at the top. 
You can sorta see in this picture of Sam, Melvin, and Irving working the right side of the roof peak is higher than the left side. The trusses were designed to overlap this way to allow for ventilation inside. 
My kiddos think it's really neat that we have had 3 John's, an Irving, a Greg, and a Scott building or working on the barn, since we have workers sharing the same name! :)
